Having travelled to different corners of our country, with the growth of the tourism industry, it is admirable that the country is literally bursting at the seams with recreational and accommodation fancies. Lalanasi lodge, located in Ndaragwa along the Nyeri- Nyahururu highway is one of these, established for those who want to leave the city life behind.

Having the space, degree of luxury and facilities that make you feel comfortable is important and Lalanasi lodge is a clear depiction of an establishment set up with clients and their different needs in mind: a group of friends, family and or couples.

From its name, the lodge is already inviting, “Lalanasi ” is a Swahili term meaning sleep with us. The lodge offers a variety of accommodation options: Tented camps, cottages, a treehouse and villas, keeping in mind that every weary traveller needs a place to hang their rucksack and put their feet at night.

The cottages are in different sizes but they all offer luxurious and spacious rooms which are all ensuite. Standard cottages sleep 2 pax maximum, executive cottages sleep 2-3 pax and an extra bed can be added upon request, deluxe cottages come with privileges such as TV set, coffee station and a microwave. Bathroom amenities are made available, including the hot and cold showers to cater for different types of guests. Good lighting is as well guaranteed.

A bit isolated from the main establishment, these villas feature large and bright living room areas, comfortably furnished with sofas and a TV set. From there, you can access a fully equipped kitchen (a refrigerator, microwave, gas cooker, kettle, coffee maker, etc) with a counter and seating area. The kitchen area could double up as a dining area since it is open plan. A small hallway leads to the rooms: A master ensuite bedroom with a double bed, a second bedroom with bunk beds and spacious bathroom area. The villas are ideal for 8-10 people. The area is very quiet, private and offers incredible views of the surrounding environment.

Tented camps:

Experience the thrill of sleeping under a tent while at Lalanasi Lodge. The tents are offered in two options: dome tents which sleep 1-2 pax and canvas tents which sleep 1-4 pax. Camping gear i.e mattresses, bedsheets and blankets are provided at extra charges.

No better way to rekindle childhood memories other than in a treehouse. Hopefully, you do relate. The structure is strongly built, easy on your safety concerns! The accommodation space features two bunk beds and sleeps up to 4 people. Visiting a treehouse is one thing, but spending a night in one is a whole different experience to savour!

Fight the cold of the night while bonding in a group at the conventionally large fireplace offered at the space. A few metres from it is a bar area offering soft and alcoholic drinks.

Ablution facilities:

An admirable fact is the amount of investment that has been put into toilets and bathrooms to cater for the capacity at any given time. As we may all agree, sanitary concerns are a factor when considering an accommodation spot, especially when camping. Trust us when we tell you in at least every corner, you will meet a facility.

Whether you are in a group, a couple or a family, Lalanasi lodge offers an array of activities: canoeing, swimming, trampoline, the bouncy castle, swings and slides, quad biking, horse riding and cycling. Swimming costumes and toys have been made available for hire in addition, there is an expansive field which can be used for team building activities like football or customized to a wedding venue. Indoor games like pool, darts and table tennis are also offered.
